Indian Short Story | What is happiness like?

Indian Short StoriesHappiness is a zero-cost beauty treatment that makes your skin and soul glow. This treatment is forever within your budget.

Happiness is like a sweet box. Everyone wants to open it and take hold of their share.

Happiness is like a true friend and the pleasure that comes with it.

Happiness is like a book, a door to a whole new world.

Happiness is like a soup. It helps you to stay in shape.

Happiness is like a scent. You can only spread to others by getting a few drops on yourselves.

Happiness is like a TV channel, giving out all the time. You just need to learn how to tune in and receive it correctly.

Happiness is like a ray of sunlight, which the slightest dusk captures.

Happiness is like secrecy, like faith, and should never be streamlined.

Happiness is like a Sky. It is limitless.

Happiness is like those fortresses in stories whose gates are protected by dragons, and we must battle to triumph over it.

Happiness is like stars. It is countless.

Happiness is like a flame that lights our path to contentment.

Happiness is like a Sea. It is profound.

Moral: Everyone wants happiness. No one wants pain. But first, learn to recognize joy.

Children Story | Comparison is the thief of joy!

Children Story
A crow living in the forest was very happy in his life. One day, he thought he should go to the other side of the forest to meet different animals. He saw a peacock when he landed on the other side of the forest. Crow was fully immersed in the peacock's beauty.

He could not believe that such a beautiful bird existed on Earth. He cursed his ugliness and said to the peacock, ‘Peacock, you are so beautiful. Wish I could be as beautiful as you are.’

‘Even you can.’

‘What!’ the Crow expressed his surprise.

Peacock said to him that a few months ago, even he was as ugly as him.  He felt he should die, and in depression, he went to the Atlanta mountains, and there he found a miracle well and drank its water and became so beautiful. Peacock suggested Crow should go there, too.

Crow excitedly flew to the Atlanta Mountains. As soon as the crow flew, Peacock made crow fun with his friends. Peacock eagerly waited for the Crow to come back so that he could tease him.

But to the peacock’s shock, the crow came back happily. Crow thanked Peacock, saying, ‘Because of your inaccurate information, I flew and saw several beautiful places around Atlanta Mountains.’

Moral: Don't compare your insides to someone else outsides.

Bedtime Stories for Kids | What you want to be?

Bedtime Stories for Kids
Eight-year-old Mini flipped pages of a storybook her mother gifted to her a week ago. She liked seeing pictures in it. Her mother wanted her to develop a reading habit at an early age, so she decided Mini should read for at least 15 minutes before she went to sleep.

After a week of tossing pages, Mini made up her mind and decided to read the whole storybook. She started reading it. She enjoyed it. After a month, when the storybook was about to finish, she informed her mother that she needed a new one. Her mother was pleased that the Mini was developing an interest in reading. Mini’s mother took her to a bookshop. Excited, Mini browsed several storybooks. But she picked one colouring book instead of a storybook. Her mother didn't like it, so she selected a Mini storybook.

After a month, when her mother took her back to a bookshop, she again picked a colouring book instead of selecting a storybook.

Mini did colouring during her free time.

Whenever her mother took her to a bookshop, she selected a colouring book instead of a storybook.

Her mother realized that Mini enjoyed colouring the most. She was happy that a small incident made her recognize and understand her daughter’s interest.

Moral: During leisure time, children reveal what they want to be.

Family Moral Stories | It's not a gift, if it's not expensive!

This image is of family moral stories
In the plush area of Mumbai, a boy named Vinay lived with his parents. His elder sister, Tanvi, was married and lived in Delhi. Vinay was reckless and lacked ambition. His life was only about partying and socializing.

One day, Vinay lost his parents in a road accident. Vinay and Tanvi grieved for days.  Eventually, they had to move on. Days passed, and Tanvi became very busy with her household. Vinay decided to take responsibility for his dad’s business empire. Tanvi’s husband, Suresh, was pleased with Vinay’s decision. But Tanvi had a different opinion.

‘Not mature enough to handle business,’ assumed Tanvi.

Tanvi was against his brother's decision to work for his dad’s business. Vinay joined the company as Managing Director. She knew Vinay would initially show enthusiasm and then again drift to partying. She instead wanted Vinay to appoint a deserving person as Managing Director. She wanted him to concentrate on writing books. She knew Vinay had excellent writing skills.

Suresh encouraged Vinay. Initially, Vinay showed enthusiasm and concentrated on work. Ultimately, he lost interest in the business. He started partying again and spent a lot of money! Tanvi and Vinay met often. Every time they met, Tanvi asked for an expensive gift from Vinay. Suresh was against Tanvi’s behaviour.

‘Don’t I treat you with enough gifts? Why do you ask Vinay for gifts?’

‘He is my brother; he can afford to pamper me with gifts,’ replied Tanvi.

‘Okay, fine. I understand that Vinay is your brother; you can ask him to give you gifts. But why always an expensive gift?’

‘Because it's not a gift if it's not expensive.’

Suresh disagreed.

Years passed, and Tanvi used to demand expensive gifts like gold or diamond jewellery from Vinay each time they met. Vinay was suffering huge losses in business, but he still pampered his sister with costly gifts. He didn’t tell Suresh either that he was on the verge of bankruptcy. He was stressed.

In trauma, he lost control of his car and met a bad accident. It took him months to recover.

One day, while he was still recovering at Tanvi’s home. Tanvi and Suresh walked into his room. Vinay was very depressed.

‘Here are your savings!’ said Tanvi, giving him an envelope.

‘What?’

‘I said here are your savings.’

Vinay opened the envelope. It contained a bank statement detailing a balance of Rs. 25 lakhs. He looked puzzled.

‘You remember, I used to demand expensive gifts from you. I used to sell them and deposit money in a bank account in your name. Because I know that you don’t save and spend unnecessarily. Savings hold you during bad times and help you start anew.’

Both Vinay and Suresh were amazed. Vinay had tears of joy in his eyes and couldn’t thank his sister enough. Suresh apologized for doubting Tanvi’s intentions. Vinay was happy to have a sister like Tanvi.

Moral: Be the right person, but don’t waste time to prove it.

A Short Love Story | What will he say - Yes or No?

This image is of a short love story
Tanvi usually spent her mornings in the park before going to the office. She worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency and hated spending her entire day in front of the computer screen.

Alas, she had no choice.

This park was only 5 minutes away from her office, perfect for mornings. Tanvi felt her day was incomplete if she didn’t come to the park, so every morning, she reached there sharp at 9 a.m.

She would have appreciated the sunrise, damp green grass, and fresh air on a typical day. She simply loved it. But this morning was not usual. It was an unusual morning for her. Tanvi was waiting for Ram. She reached for something in her handbag. She removed a small box from it. She opened the box. A finger ring made of gold, embellished with a solitaire diamond, sat inside it like a king. She touched the ring warmly and closed the box. She kept the box in her handbag.

She first met Ram in this park.

Ram

Her lips smiled as she thought about him.

Then the smile was gone. She grew nervous. She was as shy as any girl would be to say those words. She was hoping for a positive reply. She prayed that they would at least remain friends. If he didn’t appreciate her feelings, his friendship was her world.

Two years ago, Tanvi first met Ram in this park. She instantly felt a special connection with him. She liked him and, in no time, they became best friends.

Tanvi always appreciated Ram’s honesty and caring personality. She found his caring attitude very attractive.

Seating on the wooden bench. Tanvi was thinking about him. Time flew, and her nervousness grew.

Tanvi’s moment of truth was here. From the corner of her eye, she saw him coming. He had a pleasant smile on his face. Tanvi loved his smile.

‘Good morning, Tanvi.’

‘Good morning to you too, Ram,’ she replied.

He had a bouquet of pink roses in his hand.

‘Is this for me?’ asked Tanvi.

Ram said he got this bouquet for his colleague.

Tanvi was disappointed to hear a ‘no.’ She felt the day was jinxed, so she contemplated postponing the critical conversation. Just then, Ram spoke.

‘You called to share something,’ said Ram.

‘Yes, I got something to confess,’ said Tanvi.

Ram looked at her attentively.

She removed the same small box from her handbag, gave it to him, and said, ‘I am sorry. I can’t accept this ring. I can’t accept your proposal. You are my friend, but I don’t love you. Can we be friends? I don’t want to lose your friendship. Your friendship means the world to me. Can we please stay friends, yes or no?’

Ram cried out in agony. He quickly turned away from Tanvi and started walking out of the park.

Tanvi stood there, hoping for Ram’s cheerful reply.

What will he say- yes or no?

Moral: True friendship is like Wi-Fi, which connects automatically when you enter your house.
